Library

The Cokesbury Library is located in the Education Building, Room 102. It is open on Sunday mornings and during regular church office hours (Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.).  The library has the awesome responsibility to serve as steward of media resources that strengthen and support the total church ministry.

There is a wide variety of resource material for Sunday School classes, discussion groups, and personal study. The library has books and resources for everyone from toddlers to senior citizens.  Parents, we strongly encourage you to show your children the library's resources and ask you to assist them in checking out materials. The library is a tremendous resource for your children and a wonderful way to teach responsibility.

The Library’s Purpose
The mission of the library is to provide our members with resources for Christian education and study. The Library is here to support the church’s ministries and the church members’ needs for informational and inspirational materials related to Christian life and religion.

All library materials, except DVDs, may be checked out for four (4) weeks.  DVDs may be checked out for two (2) weeks.  Print your name, the date due, and your phone number on the card in the book. Library Donation Policy
Also, if you have recently purchased and finished reading a Christian book appropriate to the library collection, please consider donating it to the church library. The library only accepts Christian material in good physical condition free of mold, yellowed pages, or water damage. Materials should be published within the last ten years unless they are considered “classics.” All gifts of pre-owned materials to the library must meet the same standards as purchased items.  Unless specified, these donations will not be returned to the donor. No provisional gifts will be accepted. The library no longer accepts cassette tapes or VHS tapes.  Media we cannot use will be given to another library, returned to you if requested, or handled as the library team deems appropriate. We encourage media or monetary gifts for honorariums and memorials.  Special dedication plates will be available for these items.

The collection of the Cokesbury Library is continually reviewed and each item is evaluated as to its current value in meeting the needs of our members. Our goal is to house quality Christian media that will best benefit our church ministries, members, guests and those to whom we minister and serve in the community. Come and enjoy your library! You are always welcome!
